With vigor and enthusiasm, you, a new generation of TJU students, will bring this century-old university new vitality and pride.
This year is the concluding year to achieve the target of building a moderately prosperous society in all respects and poverty alleviation, also a year of historical convergence for the Two Centenary Goals. As such process of moving forward has never been smooth, to realize the Chinese Dream requires generations of young people to work hard with responsibilities. To spend a meaningful college time, the following four tips would help:
First, saluting to the future with independence. After bidding farewell to your hometown, you should learn to try new things with courage for endless possibilities in the future.
Second, pursuing real freedom with self-discipline. As the university is full of freedom and diversity, you need to make plans for your study and life, instead of being lost with nothing to do.
Third, enriching the meaning of life with responsibilities. In the new era, you should take the responsibility of national development with passion and courage.
Fourth, meeting the challenges with a broad horizon. You, standing at a brand-new and higher point of life, should grasp the general trend of the country to see a bigger world.
I hope that you will live up to the expectations and become an excellent TJUer.

For research, postgraduate must start with enormous literature to learn about the current hotspots, advanced ideas, and research methods, by which your innovative ideas can be proved. When encountering difficulties, you can read repeatedly and think carefully combining with the knowledge you have learned, to master the research area step by step.
Besides, it’s important to get along with your friends. You will study with each other through communication, competition, and inspiration, and live with each other through concern and support. After graduation, these good memories and friendship will be cherished forever. Meanwhile, don’t forget to keep your body and mind healthy which can make sure your study goes smoothly.

As a Ph.D. student, I have studied in TJU for nine years. Since 2015, I have been focusing on the research of bionic camouflage covert underwater acoustic communication, during which I have learned that innovation is playing an important role in national development and economic prosperity as science and technology is advancing rapidly and the competition of which is increasingly fierce. Therefore, undergraduates and postgraduates of TJU must be innovative in scientific research to seek opportunities for the country with an attitude of seeking truth from facts and the spirit of perseverance.
It is because of the dedication and struggle of ourpredecessorsthat we have witnessed the development of the national economy and the improvement of living standards. As the Chinese nation is about to fly, we, the builders of the future, should contribute to the motherland with our efforts!
