Accommodation
The Weijin Road Campus, which includes the Qilitai neighborhood and Pengxiang Apartments, houses over 10,000 students across 13 dormitory buildings. The current accommodation standards are as follows:
Six undergraduates share a room.
Four graduate students share a room.
Two PhD students share a room.
Dormitory fees are determined by the level of study. For undergraduates and graduate students, the fee is 1,200 yuan per person per year; for PhD students, the fee is 800 yuan per person per year. Each apartment building features an entrance guard, automatic gates, a security system, and fire escape windows. Facilities include public laundry, showers, and a self-service desk equipped with hot plates, hair dryers, microwave ovens, first-aid kits, and toolboxes. Each room is furnished with essential amenities, including a bed, a water dispenser, an electric fan, and Wi-Fi coverage throughout the campus.
The Office of Students’ Living Quarters Management and Service Center at Weijin Road Campus oversees various aspects, including ideological and political education, cultural initiatives, security measures, public sanitation, routine facility repairs, and accommodation management.
International Students’ Accommodation on Weijin Road Campus
The School of International Education manages two apartment buildings: You Yuan Apartment and Liu Yuan Apartment.
You Yuan Apartment
This six-story building accommodates rooms designed for six residents each. The General Service Counter and Service Department are in the entrance hall. There are ten classrooms in the building, with five located on the first floor and one on each of the subsequent floors. The first floor also houses the Multicultural Center, the Office of Dormitory Affairs (Room 108), toilets, and public laundry facilities.Liu Yuan Apartment
Liu Yuan Apartment is organized into Districts A, B, C, and D, and features a dining hall. The building comprises five floors, with all rooms configured as double rooms. The General Service Counter and Service Department are in the hall. There are four classrooms in this building, one on each floor from the second to the fifth floor. The toilets and shower facilities on the first and second floors are designated for women, while those on the third, fourth, and fifth floors are reserved for men. The second floor contains a Reference Room and Multimedia Classrooms (Rooms 201 and 202). The third floor has eleven classrooms, including Room 305, which serves as a multimedia classroom. The apartment building in District D comprises five floors, all with double rooms. The General Service Counter is located on the first floor, with four classrooms distributed between the third and fourth floors. Five meeting rooms are available within the building, located on the first and second floors. The laundry room is situated on the third floor.
Peiyangyuan Campus
The layout of the dormitory buildings at Peiyangyuan Campus reflects a student-centered design, featuring 24 enclosed buildings strategically positioned around academic facilities, dining halls, supermarkets, and other essential services. This arrangement accommodates approximately 20,000 students. The buildings—Ge Yuan, Zhi Yuan (知园), Cheng Yuan, Zheng Yuan, Xiu Yuan, Qi Yuan, Zhi Yuan (治园), and Ping Yuan—derive their names from the eight steps for self-perfection as outlined in The Book of Rites and The Great Learning: "Learn from nature" (gewu), "pursue the truth" (zhizhi), "stay true to your heart" (chengyi), "maintain temperance" (zhengxin), "perfect your personality" (xiushen), "harmonize your family" (qijia), "manage your country" (zhiguo), and "restore peace to the world" (pingtianxia).
The standard accommodation structure at Peiyangyuan Campus is as follows: four undergraduates share a room, two graduate students share a room, and PhD students are allocated private rooms. The fee for accommodation is set at 1,200 yuan per person per year. Additionally, the university offers special couples' apartments for full-time married PhD students.
Each apartment building is equipped with an entrance guard, automatic gates, a security monitoring system, an electronic information distribution system, and fire escape windows. Self-service desks include hot plates, hair dryers, microwave ovens, and other appliances. Dormitory buildings for undergraduates and graduate students feature laundry facilities, study areas, and ample public activity spaces. Each floor is equipped with public shower rooms and water fountains, providing free solar-heated water for washing. Full-time PhD students benefit from single rooms that include their own toilet and shower facilities.
All rooms are furnished with essential items, including beds, air conditioning, and water dispensers. The Office of Students’ Living Quarters Management and Service Center at Peiyangyuan Campus is responsible for ideological and political education, cultural initiatives, and the routine allocation and management of accommodation. To enhance service quality, Tianjin University collaborates with Dongwu Property Management Company, Aramark Property Management Company, and Zhonghang Property Management Company, focusing on areas such as security operations, public sanitation management, facility repairs and maintenance, and other standard services.
International Students’ Accommodation at Peiyangyuan Campus
Currently operational, the Liu Yuan A District dormitory building for the International Education College contains 308 single rooms. Each room is equipped with a bed, a desk, and independent toilet and shower facilities. A Service Counter is located in the hall of Liu Yuan A District to provide comprehensive support for international students.
Dining
Dining Halls on the Weijin Road Campus
There are currently three canteens available for all students, alongside a dedicated canteen for Muslim students at Weijin Road Campus. Two of these canteens are located in the Qilitai dormitory area (Canteens No. 3 and No.4), while Canteen No. 5 and the Muslim canteen are situated in the Pengxiang dormitory area. The management models for the canteens combine independent and trusteeship management, with Canteen No. 4, the second floor of No. 5, and the Muslim canteen operating independently, while Canteen No. 3 and the Nice Food canteen (third floorof No. 5) are managed by catering companies.Canteen for Overseas Students

3. Dining Halls at the Peiyangyuan Campus
The Peiyangyuan Campus of Tianjin University boasts five general canteens, one for international students, one Muslim canteen, and two dining rooms for faculty, covering an area of 30,000 square meters and accommodating the dining needs of up to 7,000 individuals simultaneously. The first-floor dining offerings cater to the basic dietary requirements of all students and staff, while the second-floor menu features more diverse culinary options to satisfy varied preferences among faculty and students. To provide enhanced dining experiences, Tianjin University has engaged several reputable catering firms—such as Chinese Fast Food (Tianjin) & Beverage Management Limited Company, Beijing Kinghey Food Management Limited Company, Suzhou Industrial Park Branch Bridge Catering Service Co.Ltd., and Lanzhou MA Tianfu Restaurant Management Co. Ltd.—to vie for the Peiyangyuan Campus food services contract. To ensure quality, the Canteen Management Office displays the manager's photo and contact details on noticeboards in the canteens and has established a Student Group Committee for feedback. Plans are underway to create a Teachers Group Committee to promptly address staff suggestions and concerns. Additionally, a pesticide residue testing laboratory has been established to ensure the integrity of all food ingredients.
4. Canteen for Overseas Students at Peiyangyuan Campus
The first floor of the Liu Yuan canteen at Peiyangyuan Campus does not offer regular dining services but features a Corner Bar serving cocktails, coffee, pizza, hot dogs, desserts, and other items suitable for family and friend gatherings. The second floor, known as Daxuezhidao, includes the Taishilan Asian Delicacy Restaurant, Hibiscus Flowers Korean Cuisine, Yixi Café, and No. 92 West Restaurant, capable of hosting business meetings, buffet parties, small shows, and other food services.

Peiyangyuan Campus
To Downtown:
Passengers can board the No. 613 bus (the bus stop is located at the East Gate of Peiyangyuan Campus) or the No. 216 bus (the bus stop is located at the South Gate of Peiyangyuan Campus) and transfer to Metro Line 1. Alternatively, the No. 613, No. 612, or No. 615 buses can be taken directly downtown, or taxis may be utilized.
To Jinnan District:
The No. 223 or No. 224 buses can be taken (with bus stops at the East Gate and North Gate of Peiyangyuan Campus). Taxis and other transportation options are also available.
Weijin Road Campus
Students at Weijin Road Campus have multiple convenient transportation options available, including nearby bus stops. The Qilitai bus stop is situated just outside the East Gate of Weijin Road Campus, while the TJU Dormitory bus stop is outside the North Gate. The Haiguangsi station of Metro Line 1 and the Xikanglu station of Metro Line 3 provide additional metro transportation options for students.
