I.The Tianjin Key Laboratory of Membrane Science and Desalination Technology

The Tianjin Key Laboratory of Membrane Science and Desalination Technology at Tianjin University was established in 2008. As a well-known scientific center and talent cultivation base, the laboratory has been conducting research on membrane material and membrane preparation, membrane process engineering, and desalination engineering. It is one of the most authoritative national teams in the study of seawater desalination in thermal and membrane processes, and has been in charge of many Pillar Projects of Science and Technology programs of the Eleven and Twelfth Five-Year Plans, National "973" Plan and "863" Plan Project, National Natural Science Fund Project, National Marine Public Welfare Project, Tianjin Major Scientific and Technological Project, Tianjin Science and Technology Xinghai Project as well as commissioned projects. Their research and development is related to multi-effect evaporation, membrane distillation, pretreatment membranes for seawater desalination, reverse osmosis membranes, fuel cells, new materials, and chemical separation technologies.
