Professor Liu Congqiang was born in September, 1955 in Zunyi, Guizhou Province. He received his Bachelor’s degree from Nanjing University in 1982, his Master’s degree from the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1984, and his doctoral degree from the University of Tokyo in 1991. He was elected as a member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2011.
