Professor Wang Zhan, a prominent Chinese scholar from Tianjin University, recently contributed an article to "Le 360 Afrique," a leading Moroccan news platform, where he discussed the outcomes of the 20th Central Committee’s Third Plenary Session of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and its implications for Sino-African cultural exchange.
In his article titled "The 20th CPC Central Committee’s Third Plenary Session: A Time for Sino-African Cultural Exchange," Professor Wang highlighted the significance of the session, which took place in Beijing from July 15 to 18, 2024, as China is advancing modernization and national rejuvenation. He noted that the meeting laid out a comprehensive plan for further deepening reforms, with the aim of advancing Chinese-style modernization and improving the socialist market economy.
Professor Wang mentioned that the primary goals of these reforms include three aspects: optimizing the management system, fostering entrepreneurial spirit, and strengthening corporate social responsibility. These measures aim to ensure that the market plays a decisive role in resource allocation while enabling the government to function more effectively.
In addition to domestic reforms, the plenary session also emphasized China’s new positioning on the international stage, particularly in building a more effective international communication system and promoting the Chinese narrative. Professor Wang believes that this stance is particularly important for Sino-African relations, where cultural exchange is increasingly necessary.
He advocated that now is the best time for Sino-African cultural exchange, especially the need to strengthen ties between mainstream media outlets in China and Africa. He suggested that by enhancing communication, increasing mutual understanding, and promoting greater movement of people, both sides could lay the foundation for deeper and more meaningful cultural exchanges.
"Le 360 Afrique," published in Arabic and French, is one of the most influential news platforms in Morocco, with coverage extending across North, West, Central, East, and Southern Africa, and it has a broad audience in Northwest Africa, the Arab world, and the Mediterranean region.
