Tianjin University Establishes Alumni Association in Tibet

Tianjin University marked a significant milestone with the establishment of its Tibet Alumni Association on August 27, coinciding with the 30th anniversary of nationwide support for Tibet. The inaugural ceremony was held at the Tibet University Everest Research Institute and was attended by key figures, including Hu Wenping, Executive Vice President of Tianjin University. The event saw participation from over 50 alumni and representatives from various departments of the university.

During the meeting, the formation of the alumni association was formalized, with the adoption of its constitution and the election of its first council. Bu Duo was elected as the first president, with Wu Jian Zaxi and Jiang Zhi'an serving as vice presidents. The association aims to strengthen ties among alumni and contribute to the development of Tibet in areas such as economy, education, and technology.

In his address, Hu Wenping congratulated the newly formed association and expressed gratitude to Tibet University for its support. He highlighted the significance of the association as Tianjin University's highest-altitude alumni group and emphasized the importance of fostering collaboration and continuing the university’s legacy in Tibet.

Bu Duo, the newly elected president, expressed his commitment to making the alumni association a platform for mutual assistance and cooperation. He vowed to support both the university's development and the progress of Tibet, embodying the spirit of dedication and service.

The event also featured speeches from alumni representatives, including Laba, Deputy Director of the Tibetan Plateau Atmospheric Environment Research Institute, who shared his experiences of applying his knowledge to contribute to Tibet's development in various fields. He also acknowledged the role of Tianjin University in his personal achievements and professional success.

The ceremony concluded with the presentation of a ceremonial flag by Hu Wenping on behalf of Tianjin University, and a symbolic gift exchange between the university and the newly established alumni association. The association is expected to play a crucial role in fostering the growth of both the university's network and the region's development.
