The Dragon Boat Festival is just around the corner!

China’s Dragon Boat Festival, or Duanwu, is celebrated on the fifth day of the fifth month on the lunar calendar, which falls on June 10 this year.

This year, we’ve prepared a series of exciting activities to celebrate the Festival together. The activities will take place at 5:30 PM on June 6th at Liuyuan on Weijin Road Campus of Tianjin University. In addition, we have prepared handmade paper zongzi, each containing heartfelt blessings! The offer is limited, so seize your chance before it's gone!

Activity 1: Making sachets

Sachets carry people’s good wishes, such as protection from evil to embrace good fortune. Additionally, sachets can repel mosquitoes and insects. A variety of spices are prepared. Come and make a unique sachet by yourself! Whether you give it to friends and family or keep it as a souvenir, it will be the most special Dragon Boat Festival gift!

Activity 2: Braiding a multicolored rope

Would you like to weave a multi-colored rope with auspicious meanings for yourself or your loved ones? The multicolored ropes not only can ward off evil and misfortune but also symbolize happiness and good luck. With expert guidance available on the spot, you will learn from simple to complex patterns with ease. Come and braid your unique colorful ropes!

Activity 3: Wrapping zongzi (glutinous rice and choice of filling wrapped in leaves and boiled)

Speaking of the Dragon Boat Festival, how can we not mention zongzi? In this event, we've specially arranged a zongzi-making session! Whether you're a novice or a zongzi master, you'll find joy here. A variety of fillings are provided for you to unleash your creativity and wrap your desired zongzi. Homemade zongzi tastes especially delicious! So, come and experience it for yourself, and create your own unique Dragon Boat Festival flavor!

Bring your friends and join our Dragon Boat Festival activities to weave colorful ropes, make zongzi and sachets. It’s also an excellent opportunity for us to learn about Chinese traditional culture and experience its customs. Let's make this Dragon Boat Festival more vibrant and enjoyable!
