TJU and National University of Singapore to Build a Joint International Campus in Fuzhou

 

On December 1, Tianjin University (TJU) signed several cooperative agreements with the National University of Singapore (NUS), the People's Government of Fuzhou and the Education Department of Fujian Province. According to the agreement, the TJU (Fuzhou) International Campus, will be built in Fuzhou Binhai New City.

The new international campus will be a non-profit educational institution and have legal status as a non-independent entity of TJU. Quality overseas higher education resources will be introduced, and Sino-foreign cooperative education projects and institutions dealing with the transformation of scientific achievements will be established.

The Campus will adhere to high academic standards, develop teaching and training programs, and construct its disciplines, with the benchmark of top universities in the world. The overall goal is to facilitate regional development, cultivate talent, and contribute to the academics.

Aiming at the world's technological frontiers and cultivating global talent, the Campus is regarded as a high-level international research institute in Fuzhou. In the Campus, a Tianjin University-National University of Singapore Joint Institute will be established to promote research and develop talents in optoelectronics, flexible electronics, advanced manufacturing, energy materials and advanced catalysis. Strategic and innovative scientific research cooperation with local industries will be carried out so as to boost the regional development with innovation.
