TJU Students Excel in Fifth Tianjin Undergraduate Chemistry Competition

Tianjin University students were victorious in the Fifth Tianjin Undergraduate Chemistry Competition held by the Tianjin Municipal Education Commission. TJU students received 31 first prizes, 54 second prizes, and 57 third prizes in the Individual Theory Competition plus winning the championship in the group competition.

Altogether, 323 candidates from Tianjin University attended the Individual Theory Competition. The participants were undergraduate students from the School of Chemical Engineering and Technology, the School of Materials Science and Engineering, the School of Science, the School of Pharmaceutical Science and Technology, and the School of Mechanical Engineering.

In the group competition, the TJU group headed by Prof. Xiaofei Ma from the School of Science, and guided by Prof. Wentao Zhao and Mr. Peng Zhao earned the highest total score and won the championship. The group members are Xuzhao Du (Class 2020 majoring in Applied Chemistry), Xiao Li (Class 2020 majoring in Material Science and Engineering), and Jianing Yang (Class 2020 majoring in Chemical Engineering and Technology). They were also first prize winners in the Individual Theory Competition.
