On August 18, aobut 5,000 undergraduates of Tianjin University entered the university and were impressed with the enthusiasm of the university through a variety of volunteer services - "When you enter the campus of Tianjin University, all good things come as promised!"
At both campuses of Tianjin University, the slogan "Welcome, Class of 2026!" was particularly eye-catching and festive. Welcome stations were set up at Tianjin Station, Tianjin West Station, Tianjin South Station and Tianjin Airport to bring new students to the campus by bus. TJU also arranged a number of ferry vehicles at both campuses and organized nearly 1,000 volunteers to help the new students carry their luggage and go through the admission procedures.
"Nice to meet you, my name is Tang Xiaoguo!" — The "Tang Xiaoguo" service station also attracted many new students. As a new cartoon image launched by TJU this year, it aims to solve students' problems in their daily study and life. On this day, "Tang Xiaoguo" helped a large number of new students to solve their little puzzles.
To ensure that new students from financially difficult families have a smooth start to their studies, Tianjin University continues to provide a 'green channel' for new students at the 'one-stop' Student Community Management Service Centers on both campuses to reduce their worries. Sending students a 'love package' is also an essential part of the University's tradition of welcoming new students. This year, Tianjin University has created the "Jing Dong Jin Li - Lucky Package" shopping platform to provide students with exclusive gift bags including more than 200 kinds of items such as carefully selected stationery, books and toiletries. With the technical support of the e-commerce platform, the University provides these students with an exclusive shopping account with a credit amount of 200 RMB, and they can purchase their preferred products. To help new students adapt to university life better and faster, each school and college has prepared unique activities and gifts to welcome new students according to their own characteristics - in Peiyang Square and Tai Lei Square, youthful and energetic new students, enthusiastic volunteers and colorful hand-held boards converged to a beautiful sight.
"Warm-hearted school, loving university, friendly seniors!" As soon as Wang Yan, a new student from Shaanxi, walked to the tent of the School of Precision Instrument and Opto-electronics Engineering, his heavy bag and luggage were immediately unloaded by the enthusiastic seniors. The seniors also wrote some words on postcards for each unknown new student - from "What should we do in our first year" to "Which Jianbing Guozi is the best to taste”. All make the new students feel the deep care and blessing when they enter the school.
The School of Microelectronics prepared a gift package for the new students: a beautiful college shirt, canvas bag, college badge, cadet handbook ...... and their "mystery gift" - CPU key chain impressed the new students.
At the tent of the School of Civil Engineering, a huge jigsaw puzzle came into view. Under the guidance of their seniors, they drew down the puzzle pieces and marked their first stop in Tianjin University. The puzzle pieces were gradually fitted together to form a complete picture of orientation, symbolizing the unfolding of a wonderful university life for the new students.
The School of Materials Science and Engineering provided customized coke whose bottles were printed with the words "Hello, talented young man!” to give new students a refreshing welcome.
A colorful drawing board full of signatures and hand prints of the new students was placed next to the tent of the School of Science, and the counsellor Qi Yuting said, "We hope that students will have a sense of belonging to our school."
New students from the School of Mathematics were having fun in the raffle: "The prize is our 'Little Π' doll, I hope this little doll with a mathematical symbol will bless me to pass high mathematics!" Wu Yuchen, a new student, is holding up a board reading "Welcome to the School of Mathematics" for a group photo, with her smile full of good expectations for university life.
Gao Yuze and Gao Yuwei, twin sisters from Hebei province have been admitted to engineering experimental class (electrical information category) at the same time. "Don't arrange us into the same dormitory, even the same class" - They told reporters. In spite of a close bond between them, they hope to be independent after starting the university life, step out of their “emotional comfort zone", have different networks of friends and wonderful life, and work hard for their dreams.
Yang Tianrui, a new student in the class of the School of Chemical Engineering and Technology, got a big surprise unexpectedly.
