 Research

On April 19, led by Tianjin University, six national key laboratories gathered together to establish the Alliance of National Key Laboratories for Internal Combustion Engines. The unveiling ceremony of the Alliance took place at the Tianjin Auditorium.

The Alliance consists of six national key laboratories: State Key Laboratory of Engines (Tianjin University), State Key Laboratory of Engine and Powertrain System,State Key Laboratory of Intelligent Agricultural Power Equipment, National Key Laboratory of Marine Engine Technology, National Key Laboratory of Vehicle Power System, and National Key Laboratory of Multi-platform Drive System Technology.

In addition to fuel the "dual carbon" strategy, the Alliance also aims to advance the high-quality development of internal combustion engine power, create a collaborative innovation platform to address key technical challenges in internal combustion engine technology, and pave the way for a greener, more reliable, intelligent, and efficient industrial development path for internal combustion engines.

President of 2024 World Congress on Internal Combustion Engines (WICE) and Tianjin University Jin Donghan stated that Tianjin University (TJU) took the lead in establishing the Alliance during WICE, which is of great significance. With its rich history and expertise in the field of internal combustion engines, TJU aspires to fully leverage the unique strengths of the Alliance. TJU intends to strengthen connections among enterprises, universities, research institutions, and laboratories, facilitate deep integration of laboratories in talent cultivation, technological innovation, and transfer and commercialization of research results, and build the main force in driving the national strategic scientific and technological capabilities in internal combustion engines.
