[National Day] National Day Celebrations at Tianjin University

On October 1st, Tianjin University marked National Day with a series of patriotic events across its campuses, bringing together students and faculty to celebrate the National Day. From flag-raising ceremonies to thought-provoking discussions, the university community expressed its deep love for the country.

The day began with a flag-raising ceremony held on both the Weijin Road and Peiyang Park campuses. The flag guard team, made up of students, escorted the national flag in the background. The Five-Starred Red Flag rose steadily while the crowd of students and faculty sang together. Student representatives Yang Bo and Fan Xinyu spoke about the importance of“revitalizing education and strengthening the nation”, encouraging their peers to embrace the responsibility of contributing toour nation’s future.

The celebrations began the day before National Day, with students from the Tailei Class engaging in a discussion on“The Youth’s Responsibility in Building a Strong Nation through Education.” Wu Yueyi, a member of the 27th Postgraduate Volunteer Teaching Group, shared her thoughts on the importance of education, as she prepares to teach in western region.“As a teacher, my goal is not just to impart knowledge but to inspire children to set high aspirations,” Wu said.

On National Day, a health-focused running event took place on campus. Led by He Ranran, a world champion in aerobics and a physical education teacher, students participated in warm-up exercises before starting a campus-wide run. The event allowed participants to combine their love for fitness with their patriotic spirit as they ran through the autumn scenery, representing both personal vitality and national pride.

In addition, the Pengxiang Student Community hosted a“Growing Together with My Motherland” party, the celebration featured a knowledge quiz on the“Great Achievements of the New Era”.Students from the School of Architecture also contributed themed wall paintings titled“Where the Country Needs, Tianjin University’s Volunteers Are”, showcasing their patriotism through creative expression.

These events highlighted the university’s commitment to fostering a sense of national pride, encouraging students to contribute actively toour nation’s development.
