Professor Li Kun Receives 2023 Shi Qingyun Female Scientist Award

Professor Li Kun of Tianjin University's College of Intelligence and Computing received the prestigious CSIG Shi Qingyun Award for Female Scientists at the Chinese Congress on Image and Graphics (CCIG 2024) on May 25th. The award recognizes women who have made significant contributions to the field of image graphics.

Professor Li, a leading expert in 3D vision and digital virtual humans, has published more than 60 papers in top-tier international journals and conferences. Her innovative research has also been applied to industrial products. She has directed 16 major scientific initiatives, supported by organizations including the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the National Key R&D Program. Among her many accolades is the ICME'17 Platinum Best Papers Award.

In 2024, a project under her guidance, "One-click Generation of 3D Models: Digital World Model Infrastructure Lightweight Suppliers," won third place in the China International College Students’ Innovation Competition, demonstrating her impact as a mentor.

In addition to her research and teaching, Professor Li holds several leadership positions. She is the vice general secretary of the Tianjin Association for Artificial Intelligence, served as the area president of ACM MM 2021, local president of VALSE 2022, and is an editor for journalssuch as CAAI TRIT and Fundamental Research.

Additionally, she engages in remote teaching for middle and elementary schools in Xinjiang and Gansu, and organizes a series of science popularization activities for schools serving students with visual impairments.
