Tianjin University Hosts Symposium to Strengthen Sino-Malaysian Ties

In celebration of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Malaysia, Tianjin University (TJU) conducted a symposium on May 28th, emphasizing its commitment to international education and cultural exchange. The event highlighted the experiences of Malaysian international students, showcasing the university's dedication to fostering a global educational community.

Students from various faculties shared their journeys, illustrating the vibrant campus life and academic opportunities at TJU. Guo Zhenhong from the School of Chemical Engineering and Technology, and Li Xuanxuan from the School of Pharmaceutical Science and Technology, discussed their academic advancements and campus experiences. Lin Zhanyong and Shi Xuanyu shared their participation in unique courses and extracurricular activities that have enriched their educational experiences.

Chen Jingyong from the College of Management and Economics, and Lin Mei from the School of International Education, spoke about their insights into China’s development, gained through their studies. They emphasized the supportive environment at TJU, which has encouraged them to contribute to the strengthening of China-Malaysia relations.

Yang Xianjin, Party Secretary of TJU, praised the Malaysian students for their contributions and reiterated the university’s efforts to maintain an inclusive atmosphere for international students. He expressed hope that the students would deeply engage with Chinese culture and aspire to become international ambassadors knowledgeable about China and Tianjin.

Vice President Gon Jinlong conveyed commendations from General Secretary Xi Jinping, encouraging the students to serve as cultural ambassadors to enhance Sino-Malaysian relations.

The symposium underscored TJU’s role as a leader in international education, committed to nurturing a shared future for China and the global community.
