On November 25 and 26, 2023, the 7th National Pharmaceutical/Traditional Chinese Medicine University Students Experimental Skills Competition was held at Zunyi Medical University. Li Yiping, an undergraduate student of Grade 2021 from the School of Pharmaceutical Science and Technology (SPST) at Tianjin University, won the top prize. Her classmate Wang Xiangjun won the third prize.
The National Pharmaceutical/Traditional Chinese Medicine University Students Experimental Skills Competition is jointly organized by the National Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center of the Ministry of Education (MoE), the Organizing Committee of the National Pharmaceutical University Students Professional Technology and Experimental Skills Competition, the MoE Virtual Teaching Group of Pharmaceutical Curriculum, and China Pharmaceutical University. It was the largest and most competitive competition since its commencement, and it was also a grand event for students majoring in pharmaceutical science or traditional Chinese medicine from national universities to showcase their experimental skills.
The competition event mainly includes two parts: experimental theory testing and experimental skill operation assessment. The experimental operations cover basic experiments in pharmacy and traditional Chinese medicine, with a focus on examining the operational level of students in basic experiments and their ability to analyze and adapt to on-site situations during the experimental process. Under the organization of the SPST Experimental Teaching Center, the training teachers actively participated in the selection of student candidates and provided careful guidance. During the competition, Tianjin University students presented a composed manner and steady performance, and ultimately achieved excellent results. This demonstrated the solid experimental theoretical level and hands-on operation ability of SPST students, and finely reflected the education quality of Tianjin University.
