Qi Kezhan, an alumnus of the Department of Technical Economics and Systems Engineering in the College of Management and Economics (CoME), donated one million yuan to establish "Qi Kezhan Scholarship".
The scholarship is to encourage outstanding students to work harder and provide strong support for their academic development.
Qi Kezhan graduated from the Department of Technical Economics and Systems Engineering of TJU in 1993 with a Bachelor's Degree in Technical Economics and a Double Bachelor's Degree in Computer Applications. He is currently the chairman, president and chief investment officer of Merger China Group (MCG). His academic years were full of exploration and innovation, and his love for academic research lays a solid foundation for his future development.
Qi Kezhan said: "Tianjin University (TJU) is a great university. The University motto of seeking truth from facts has a profound impact on me."
Every time Qi Kezhan mentioned his alma mater, he would like to talk about its rigorous and pragmatic academic style and relentless pursuit of excellence. This spirit has always permeated his subsequent studies and work. After graduating from TJU, Qi Kezhan continued his studies, exploring Wall Street, visiting international prestigious universities, obtaining his highest degree, and winning multiple IPO awards. He successively worked at the Boston Consulting Group (BCG), Goldman Sachs, and China International Capital Corporation Limited (CICC).
Qi Kezhan said: “I am happy to contribute and do some things that alumni should do on the occasion of 40th anniversary of the CoME He recalled the wonderful time he had while studying at CoME. In addition to this generous donation, he also frequently supports education cause of his alma mater. Zheng Dong Library on Peiyangyuan Campus received the donation of 'Qi KeZhan Audio and Video Appreciation Room' by him previously. He intends to return to give special lectures and share his experience with students.

Alumni of Tianjin University eagerly support the construction of their alma mater, providing various types of support in talent cultivation, disciplinary development, award and scholarship, innovation and entrepreneurship, and industry-university-institute cooperation.
