On November 15, the inauguration ceremony of Tianjin University - Anji County Research Institute for Construction of Beautiful and Harmonious Countryside was held in Yucun, a small village located in Anji County of Huzhou city, Zhejiang province.

Deputy Director Zhan Ling of the Development Guidance Department of the National Rural Revitalization Administration, Vice President Wang Tianyou of Tianjin University, and Vice Mayor Xia Jianding of Huzhou City attended the event. Representatives from Anji County, the National Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, Tianjin University, and Tsinghua University were invited to participate.

During the event, Tianjin University - Anji County Research Institute for Construction of Beautiful and Harmonious Countryside was unveiled, along with the signing of a demonstration project for Chinese modern rural revitalization featuring collaboration between universities and local governments. Meanwhile, the inauguration of the Rural Human Settlements Special Committee Workstation was completed, and the first batch of university rural revitalization workstations was launched. Moreover, the National University Design and Construction Competition themed construction of beautiful and harmonious countryside was successfully held, with attending experts and scholars delivering related keynote reports. Additionally, the first working meeting of the editorial committee for the "Rural Human Settlements Series" and "Research on the Technical Route for Updating and Transforming Chinese Villages" was conducted.

Over recent years, Tianjin University has played an active role in leveraging its advantages in education, science and technology, and professionals to provide comprehensive support for rural revitalization. It has provided supports in development of Tanchang County of Gansu Province. Thanks to its commitment, the rural revitalization workstations have been established in Xiang'an District of Xiamen City and Xinshi Town of Miluo City, providing strong supports in professionals, technology, and intelligence for rural construction.

The collaboration between Tianjin University and Anji County on co-establishment of Tianjin University - Anji County Research Institute for Construction of Beautiful and Harmonious Countryside represents a proactive exploration and effective attempt in education services for rural revitalization. The institute is expected to deeply explore the theoretical core of Chinese modernization and harmonious and beautiful rural development, forming theoretical outcomes that are realistic, representative, and instructive.
