Tianjin University (TJU) welcomed new international students of 2023 from August 23 to September 1, 2023. More than 430 international students from over 80 countries began a brand-new adventure of vibrant and youthful study at Tianjin University with anticipation and joy on their faces.

From Tianjin Binhai International Airport to Tianjin University campus, new international students from all over the world were warmly welcomed by teachers and students of Tianjin University. Teachers and students helped new students navigate a number of enrollment processes with enthusiasm and considerate service, and the welcome activities were polite, cordial, and organized.

At the orientation site, there is a group of special figures. They are international student volunteers. The international student volunteer team is made up of dozens of international students from more than ten nations, including those from China, Jordan, Turkmenistan, Malaysia, Russia, and Armenia. They are all incredibly enthusiastic and worked at various pick-up spots and welcome centers around campus from early in the morning until late at night, displaying the vivacious and giving nature of TJU people with warm eyes, warm words, and patience.

Tianjin University set up an "International Student Entrance Day" check-in point on campus, which was welcomed by new students and they took photos together to commemorate the day. The University prepared orientation supplies for all new international students, such as college shirts, TIU maps, and study abroad brochures, among others, to aid them in quickly adjusting to life at TJU.

First-year undergraduate student Mata Dittel Mariana is from Costa Rica. She said: “When I was searching for universities in China, I found that Tianjin University is one of the best universities in China. I would like to study as a master’s (student) also here or maybe in another country and also go back to my country.”

First-year master’s student Hor Srey Nich is from Cambodia. She said: “I have stayed at Tianjin University for five years and obtained my bachelor’s degree here. I like Tianjin University’s atmosphere and learning environment, as well as all of my teachers and classmates here, so I choose to continue my study here for master's degree.”
