Tianjin University tops China’s universities on national teaching achievements for higher education as the first completed unit with a total number of 26 prizes, according to a list of teaching achievement awards published by China’s Ministry of Education on July 24.

The University’s projects of the National Teaching Achievement Award (Undergraduate) cover fields of emerging engineering education, emerging medical education, emerging liberal arts education, innovation and entrepreneurship education, education and teaching digitalization, teaching quality evaluation reform, and teaching comprehensive reform, among other fields. The projects of the National Teaching Achievement Award (Postgraduate) cover fields of training of high-level talent in urgent need, integration of research and education, integration of industry and education, and process management, among other fields, showcasing Tianjin University’s achievements in building a first-class postgraduate education system.

The project "Emerging Engineering Education" with Tianjin University as the first completed unit won the top prize of the National Teaching Achievement Award (Undergraduate). Two projects on the training of excellent chemical talents and training of emerging engineering education talents of mechanical discipline won the first prizes of the National Teaching Achievement Award (Undergraduate). Twelve projects won the second prizes of the National Teaching Achievement Award (Undergraduate). Eleven projects won the second prizes of the National Teaching Achievement Award (Postgraduate). In addition, the project on the training of higher vocational talents in the field of new-generation information technology led by Tianjin University won the first prize of the National Teaching Achievement Award for Vocational Education.

National Teaching Achievement Award for Higher Education is awarded once every four years. The 2022 National Teaching Achievement Award is the 9th National Teaching Achievement Award. A total of 2 top prizes, 70 first prizes, and 500 second prizes were awarded for 2022 National Teaching Achievement Award (Undergraduate). A total of one top prize, 35 first prizes, and 248 second prizes were awarded for 2022 National Teaching Achievement Award (Postgraduate).
