【Rural Revitalization】 Agricultural Marketing Competition Opens for National Colleges and Universities

"Let's work to be young dream builders for rural revitalization!" During the launching ceremony of the National College Public Welfare Agricultural Marketing Competition hosted by Tianjin University, Tianjin University called on college teachers and students across the country to join in the promotion of rural revitalization.

The topic of this year’s competition is to expand sales for high-quality agricultural products of Tanchang County in Gansu Province, Weixian County in Hebei Province, and Caochanghe Village in Tianjin, among other places, and provide suggestions for local enterprises. Contestants need to buy local specialty agricultural products, integrates local culture with Tianjin feature and sells them within the specified time to generate income for local enterprises and farmers, or effectively help enterprises break through development difficulties based on local characteristics and innovation.

Participants can choose multiplayer competition mode whose team members could come from the same university or different universities, or single-player competition mode. The competition includes six major sessions: start-up, double selection matchmaking meeting, marketing skills training, marketing practice, achievement promotion, and summary and commendation, providing players with learning and practice opportunities. To promote the diversified development of agricultural assistance, this year's Competition will be divided into two "theme tracks": the main e-commerce track and the innovation and creativity track. The main e-commerce track aims to help townships develop new models of Internet marketing and empower local e-commerce. The innovation and creativity track guides the participating teams to "pair" with enterprises, continues to output "golden ideas", expands the "circle of friends" of farmers, and effectively promotes enterprises to carry out product iteration and industrial upgrading.

This year's Competition is "full of Tianjin taste". Among the products are Xiaozhan rice, sculptures of Clay Figure Zhang, Yangliuqing New Year paintings, and Guanzhaoxuan porcelain. Participating teams can spread Tianjin culture in the competition, showcasing a vivid "Tianjin Style" throughout the country.

"At present, more than 300 students from more than 20 colleges and universities across the country have signed up." According to Tianjin University staff Li Yi from the College of Management and Economics, who are responsible for the competition, "We look forward to working with teachers and students across the country to make contributions to accelerate the modernization of agriculture and rural areas!"

Since 2020, Tianjin University has hosted National College Public Welfare Agricultural Marketing Competition for three consecutive years. The competition attracted more than 700 students from 36 universities such as Renmin University of China, Wuhan University and China University of Political Science and Law. Their agricultural assistance covered more than 80 cities in 27 provinces, with a cumulative marketing volume of more than 440,000 yuan. National College Public Welfare Agricultural Marketing Competition provided a broad platform for college students to give full play to their professional strengths to carry out innovation and entrepreneurship practice. It is of far-reaching significance for promoting the development of young students and agricultural and rural modernization.
