The BRICS Seminar on Governance and Cultural Exchange Forum was held in Yangzhou, Jiangsu Province from March 30 to 31. Under the themes “A New Blueprint for BRICS Cooperation, A New Dynamic for Global Development” and “Closer Cultural Ties for Stronger BRICS Partnerships,” more than 200 representatives from the five BRICS countries, including China, Russia, India, Brazil and South Africa gathered at the Seminar to brainstormed ideas related to governance and to reach a broad consensus on building high-quality partnerships and deepening and strengthening cooperation among BRICS countries.

Professor Zhang Zhongxiang, the founding dean and a distinguished university professor at the Ma Yinchu School of Economics, Tianjin University and Director of China Academy of Energy, Environmental and Industrial Economics, China, was invited to deliver a keynote speech on "Integration and innovation to boost the economy" in the session of fostering new drivers for global development and promoting the transformation of technological innovation.
