On April 2, 2023, the libraries on both Weijin Road Campus and Peiyangyuan Campus of Tianjin University featured various activities, including artistic and cultural performances, science experience interaction, exhibitions and more than 20 themed activities.
In the courtyard of Zheng Dong Library on Peiyangyuan, a variety of activities were held. In addition, Tianjin University also launched interactive activities such as science popularization activities and fun quiz with robots, intelligent programming vehicles, drone soccer, and other equipment for visitors to interact. On the third floor of the library, the exhibition of high imitation replicas of ancient Chinese paintings including A Thousand Li of Rivers and Mountains amazed visitors as well.
The special collection resources brought readers closer to the flower culture in classical poetry represented by crabapple. And the permanent exhibition area for Mr. Zhang Yu, the Clay Figurine Zhang, displayed six classic works of him, allowing visitors to learn about the centennial history, culture, and development of this art and deepen their understanding of the concept of intangible cultural heritage.
Sightseeing on the North Library of the Weijin Road Campus were in an artistic atmosphere. With Mr. Ye Wu conducting a unique open watercolor class, many students observed natural still life and created works with authentic colors and vivid shapes under his guidance. Some tourists were eager to participate as well. In the middle of Mingde Road, the faculty and student recital and the series of activities organized by the library’s affiliated clubs were also very eye-catching. The show not only burst with college community culture, but also showcased the charm of TJUers.
