The 11th CPC Congress of Tianjin University was held from February 22 to 24, 2023. The Congress reviewed the work of the university since the 10th CPC Congress and drew a new blueprint for high-quality development of Tianjin University.

Professor Yang Xianjin, Secretary of the Party Committee of Tianjin University, on behalf of the 10th CPC Tianjin University Committee, delivered a report entitled“Strive towards a new paradigm for the development of a world-class university with Chinese characteristics”.

The student representatives form an important part of the congress delegates. A total of 30 students from all schools and colleges were elected as delegates. After the Congress, student delegates shared their opinions.

Student delegate Liu Xiaoyu, Grade 2021 postgraduate of the School of Science, said: "It’s a great honor to attend this Congress. Since 2017 when I entered Tianjin University, I’m lucky to witness the achievements of our university in the past five years. The University has perfected its discipline distribution of consolidating engineering, strengthening science, revitalizing humanities and developing medicine. Our university also established doctoral degree in physics in 2020. Tianjin University continues to deepen the international exchange and cooperation in all aspects. I was lucky to participate in Singapore academic exchange activities during my undergraduate period and had face-to-face exchanges with teachers and students of the National University of Singapore and Nanyang Institute of Technology, expanding my horizons and stimulating my enthusiasm scientific research. Besides, cooperation between schools is gradually strengthened, including the cooperation with other universities and research institutions in scientific research and internship, through which we have more chances to know about scientific research fields, acquire knowledge and gain experience."
