Invited by Elsevier publishing group,professor Zhao Zhijian, School of Chemical Engineering and Technology, Tianjin University, will be responsible for the selection of articles in the field of catalytic and reaction engineering as the executive editor ofChemical Engineering Science, an authoritative journal on chemical engineering.
Founded in 1951,Chemical Engineering Sciencehas been committed to publishing basic research in the field of chemical engineering. As one of the three top journals in this field, the Journal covers biochemistry, materials synthesis, process systems engineering, reaction engineering, catalysis science, separation engineering, chemical thermodynamics, soft matter, transfer phenomena, fluid mechanics and many other fields.Chemical Engineering Scienceregularly publishes original research papers and review papers and has a profound influence in the world.
After getting his bachelor’s, master’s and Doctor’s degrees from Zhejiang University and Technical University of Munich, Dr. Zhao Zhijian conducted postdoctoral research in Purdue University and Stanford University in the United States. In 2015, he was employed by the School of Chemical Engineering and Technology, Tianjin University. Taking the theoretical screening of heterogeneous catalysts as the main researching line, he mainly engages in the development of heterogeneous catalysts under the guidance of theory. In addition, he undertakes several tasks related to basic reactions of energy chemical industry in key research and development projects of the Ministry of Science and Technology and National Natural Science Foundation of China, successfully designing a variety of high-performance catalysts for propane dehydrogenation and CO2hydrogenation with theoretical modeling accelerated by artificial intelligence.
The appointment of Professor Zhao Zhijian as the executive editor ofChemical Engineering Sciencemarks that the chemical engineering discipline of Tianjin university has been widely recognized by international counterparts again, whose influence in the world is further expanded.
