Hao Jinbo is an undergraduate of 2018 from the School of Materials Science and Engineering as well as a member of the Communist Party of China. He participated in the Shi Changxu Honorary Degree Project and was recommended to the Future Technology Institute of Tianjin University for postgraduate study.
During his undergraduate studies, Hao was awarded the National Scholarship and the Star of Self-improvement of Tianjin University. His research results won more than 10 honors including "National Best Creative Project" at the National College Students' Innovation and Entrepreneurship Annual Conference.
Throughout the four years of undergraduate study, Hao devoted himself to scientific and technological innovation. In his sophomore year, he founded NiTinol Technology, a student innovation team. After two years of painstaking efforts on the innovation and market application of new energy power, the team successfully developed composite phase change heat storage material and Nitinol composite drive system, he then applied for one national invention patent and one utility model patent as the first inventor.
The research results were also selected into the National College Students' Innovation and Entrepreneurship Annual Conference, and had been regarded as the national Best Creative Project as an advanced reform achievement (only 25 projects nationwide).
Since 2020, Hao has participated in various national and provincial competitions on behalf of Tianjin University for 15 times, which yielded fruitful results: the first prize of the 13th National College Students' Energy Conservation and Emission Reduction Social Practice and Technology Competition, the second prize of the 11th National College Students' Physics Academic Competition, the first prize of the fifth National College Students' Welding Innovation Competition, the Gold Medal of Tianjin "Internet +" Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, the Special prize of the "Challenge Cup".
Hao has always been at the forefront of all kinds of public services, such as campus construction, rural revitalization and epidemic prevention. He led a team to Yanshou County in Heilongjiang Province for summer volunteer teaching, and established the first local summer practice base. Frequently volunteering in the work of vaccination and nucleic acid testing, he contributed the strength of Chinese youths to the battle against the epidemic in Tianjin. He is also a fervid participator in building campus sci-tech innovation culture. Through innovation exhibition and experience sharing meeting, he passed the joy and essence of science and technology innovation to more young students.
Hao was elected as one of the 2021’s Stars of Self-improvement of Chinese College Students. Tianjin University will continue to strengthen educational support and guidance, cultivate and select outstanding student models to carry forward the spirit of gratitude and dedication. It will also call on students to be ambitious yet practical, confident and capable, thus making them the new era’s great young generation, a generation with ideals, a sense of responsibility, grit, and dedication. It is certain that as they endeavor to build China into a modern socialist country in all respects, their youth and vitality will bloom in full splendor.
