On September 5, each school started its first class in full swing.

In the School of Pharmaceutical Science and Technology, the first class of Introduction to Pharmaceutical Science, jointly prepared by teachers from the United Kingdom, the United States and China, was delivered as scheduled. The school’s first-year postgraduates, including international students from Tanzania, Yemen and Rwanda, attended the class together online. Introduction to Pharmaceutical Science is the first popular course of "all English talent training system for undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral students in pharmaceutical science" in China. It is taught by academic leaders of the school, aiming to enable first-year students to understand the key content and frontiers of pharmaceutical research fields in an all-round way.

The first class of the School of Architecture, Architectural Design -5, was lectured by Cui Kai, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and professor of Tianjin University, as well as two famous experts Zhou Kai and Li Xinggang. Such a strong teaching team excited students. Xu Sirui, a senior student, said: "Academician Cui introduced the base and background of design in details, enabling us to understand all the design ideas of the local studio. Meanwhile, Teachers Zhang Xinnan and Song Yilin organized this design class. They gave us professional lectures and a lot of detailed information before and after the class, broadening our thinking and encouraging us to communicate in class. We look forward to our following classes of the school!” Another student Jia Yulin said: "I can feel that every teacher prepares the class attentively. Academician's explanation was easy to understand. It gives me a different perspective to understand the venue and also makes me look forward to my future study."

Liu Xinyang is a Grade 2019 student majoring inintelligent medical engineering. His first class was Medical Robots lectured by Liu Yuan, a young teacher of the Medical College. Liu Xinyang said: "In this class, the teacher mainly started with the types and definition of medical robots and their development trends at home and abroad. Through classroom discussions, the teacher introduced our syllabus for this semester and let us think about the limitations and development prospects of robots."

The first class of the School of Electrical and Information Engineering Fundamentals of Computer Control Technology was jointly deployed by teaching staff, administrative staff and students. The school established a course interaction group in advance, released relevant materials and information of the class and paid attention to students' learning conditions and needs. Fundamentals of Computer Control Technology is one of the core courses of the school. It involves a wide range of knowledge. The faculty team conducted a group discussion. At the initial stage of the course, they arranged a project that runs through the whole process of the course for students to design. In the course of teaching, the design points of the project would improve with the progress of the teaching. They made full use of the developed virtual simulation project and the "intelligent laboratory function" of relevant website for students’ self-learning and exploration.

The first class of the School of Earth System Science was Advanced Environmental Chemistry. The teacher of this course was Li Xiaodong, who was honored as the "Top Ten Good Teachers" of Tianjin University. At the beginning of the class, Mr. Li made clear the specific requirements of the course, explained in detail the assessment and evaluation methods of the course and actively interacted with the students through questionnaires, questions and other ways.

An Shengjie, a first-year undergraduate of Science Experimental Class (Ecology and Environment), took his first class Advanced Mathematics. He said: "The content of this class is mapping and functions, which is a transition between the knowledge of high school and college. In fact, after learning, I find that advanced mathematicsis not as difficult to understand as I imagined. Instead, it embodies the logic and beauty of mathematics."

Zhao Yuhan, a first-year student of the School of Precision Instrument and Optoelectronics Engineering, also had the first Advanced Mathematics class. He said: "Every question from the students and every answer from the teacher seems so familiar. Although the first class is only 90 minutes, we learn new concepts and definitions and know the rigor of advanced mathematics. We benefit a lot."
