As the summer vacation is coming to an end, hundreds of practice teams composed of tens of hundreds of students from Tianjin University have successfully completed social practice in various places, showing their vigorous image. Their social practices involve in rural revitalization, education assistance, cultural protection, and internship in enterprises and institutions, covering various areas.
“Your courses are wonderful and you are so friendly”, a grandma in Guiyun Community Night School said sincerely. “Qian Cheng Wu You” practice team composed of 80% of PhD students went to the mountainous areas of Guizhou Province and opened night schools for villagers’ poverty alleviation to boost rural revitalization. The team spent nine days teaching twenty-eight courses in 5-night schools, involved in four basic categories, namely basic literacy, tourism services, skill improvement and folk culture, which helped villagers master the key to rural revitalization. And such efforts are being taken in many practice centers for rural revitalization.
In the hot summer, dozens of young students from the Tanhui Youth Practice Team were busy designing the cultural wall. In Wangjia Village, Dengqiao Village, and Chela Nine-Year School, in Guanting Town, Tanchang County, they designed 10 wall paintings in 10 days, covering an area of 305.83 square meters. These wall paintings skillfully mixed themes such as rural revitalization, living environment, and the construction of the rule of law with colors.
In the 100th Dream Classroom of Dazhai Village, Tanchang County, there was a clear voice. Associate Professor Xing Yuan from the School of Mechanical Engineering was explaining the TJU "Micro Hand S" Robot. This is the second cloud class of “Hold on Dream” Summer Camp. From aerospace technology to surgical robots to magic performances, the Smart Cloud Class has opened doors for the children in the summer camp to see the world. Such camps have been launched all over the country, and the seeds of the dream were planted in the hearts of thousands of children in poverty-stricken areas through many high-quality courses.
A grandpa, the sixth generation of Suona (Chinese Woodwind Instrument) inheritors showed their skills of circulatory ventilation to the students of the Chu Shi Ivory Tower Practice Team in his home in Lucheng District, Changzhi City, Shanxi Province. The long history of this ancient Chinese instrument, which has been passed down for more than 200 years, has deeply shocked every student and made them realize how important to protect and inherit intangible cultural heritage.
In addition to the rural areas, TJU students also went to local governments. Through the "Yang Fan Plan" and the "Return to Hometown" practice program, more than 120 students practiced in departments and units of various districts, counties and townships in Tianjin. Hundreds of TJU students took part in social practice by working in governments, enterprises and institutions in Taiyuan, Zhangjiagang and other cities, contributing to the primary-level governance.
In the future, hope more and more TJU students can join the social practice where they gain knowledge, improve skills and make contributions.
