Recently, Gao Yuze and Gao Yuwei, twin sisters from Shi Jiazhuang, Hebei province simultaneously received admission letters with consecutive numbers from Tianjin University (TJU). They will embark on a four-year journey in this majestic institution.
"Tianjin University has been our goal for a long time. We all know its long history and touching stories as the first modern university in China. The motto“Seeking Truth from Facts”, the spirit of“precision in learning and strictness in teaching”, the tradition of“patriotism and devotion to the country”and the commitment to innovation has deeply moved us. In the future, these will be the spiritual wealth that keep us motivated.”the two sisters said.
The two sisters have a wide range of interests: swimming, running, and playing badminton, and they both have obtained a level 10 certificate in electronic organ. Gao Yuze and Gao Yuwei were in the same class since studying in Shijiazhuang No. 1 High School. Their strong hands-on ability and preference for science and engineering helped them easily complete the experiment tasks in the physics class. "We are all very interested in electronic information and communication engineering. Through admission consultation, we learned that the history of School of Electrical and Information Engineering can be traced back to 1933 when the Department of Electrical Engineering of Peiyang University was established. So far, it has been more than 80 years old. With outstanding faculty and excellent talents, this school becomes our 'dream school'." The elder sister Gao Yuze and the younger sister Gao Yuwei have been admitted to engineering experimental class (electrical information category) at the same time.
"We would like not to be assigned to the same dormitory, ot the same class" - this is actually their first wish for college life. In spite of a close bond between them, they hope to be independent after starting the university life, step out of their “emotional comfort zone", have different networks of friends and wonderful life, and work hard for their dream.
