On June 24, Tianjin University (TJU) signed a comprehensive cooperation agreement with Wuxi government, marking a new stage in the two parties’ partnership.

Jin Donghan, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) and President of Tianjin University (TJU), and Zhao Jianjun, Mayor of Wuxi, jointly unveiled the “Wuxi Research Institute of Tianjin University”.

Du Xiaogang, Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee of Wuxi City attended the event.

Mayor Zhao Jianjun spoke highly of TJU, China’s first-class university in quality of education and research. He hoped both parties could join hands on establishment of first-class platforms, commercialization of research achievements, and expanding cooperation areas.

President Jin Donghan said TJU would promote implementation of cooperative projects, give full play to its talent and intellectual resources for the cultivation of a number of emerging specialized leading enterprises, continuing to contribute to Wuxi’s high-quality development.

Professors of Tianjin University, Utaka Yoshio, Academician of the Engineering Academy of Japan (EAJ) and Chen Rui, Director of the Low Carbon Technology Research Center at Loughborough University in the UK delivered speeches online.

During the event, another cooperative agreement was signed between Tianjin University and Huishan Economic and Technological Development Zone, Wuxi on the joint construction of “Wuxi Research Institute of Tianjin University”.
