On May 27, a cooperative symposium was held via video link between Tianjin University and China State Shipbuilding Corporation Limited (CSSC). Lei Fanpei, Chairman of CSSC, and Jin Donghan, Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering and President of Tianjin University, attended the symposium and made keynote speeches respectively. The symposium was presided by Lei Ming, Deputy Secretary of Party Committee of Tianjin University.

On behalf of TJU, Ms. Lei Ming pointed out that TJU had been equipped with typical advantages and characteristics in science and technology innovation, disciplinary development and talent cultivation, which has provided a solid foundation for the deeper cooperation between TJU and enterprises.

Director of CSSC Du Gang expressed his hope to further deepen the cooperation between TJU and CSSC on major science and technology projects, strategies in basic frontier areas, applied technology, and training of innovative and interdisciplinary talents.

President Jin Donghan hoped that the two parties could continue to promote research cooperation in key areas and strengthen collaborative talent training.

Chairman Lei Fanpei hoped that the two parties could develop closer cooperation in project planning and implementation, transformation of scientific and technological achievements, and talent training, including the training of engineering masters and doctors in marine equipment fields such as deep and distant sea, polar ships, green low-carbon, deep-sea farming and deep-sea mining.

During the event, in-depth exchanges and discussions on university-enterprise cooperation were conducted among relative institutes, departments and schools between the two parties.
