“After I reserved themedical service on my phone in the morning, I can see the doctor and get my medicines at the convenience pharmacy in my community right in the afternoon.”Mr. Teng Shijia, a nearly ninety-year-old retired professor said. He and his wife Guo Qizhang, who have suffered diabetes, coronary heart disease and several other common diseases, only took about ten minutes to receive diagnosis and obtain their medicines. Mr. Teng added, “Tianjin University Hospital set up convenience pharmacy into the community for the convenience of TJU retirees. The convenience pharmacy near my apartment has greatly benefited our staggering elderly people with chronic diseases in urgent need of medical services and medicines.”
Tianjin University Hospital set up a “temporary convenience pharmacy”in Liucun Comunity, particularly for the convenience of TJU retired people who need daily medical services. Under the guidance of TJU Hospital, the convenience pharmacy was approved by the expert panel of the local Administrative License Examination and Approval Bureau. It is open on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, which has been equipped with experienced doctors as well as pharmacists responsible for dispensing medicines.
Upon reserving by phones, TJU retired people, with their retirement certificates, medical insurance card and medical records, can enjoy a streamlined and simplified medical service procedure - temperature scanning, registering, diagnosis, and medicine taking after payment.
“We’ve prepared patients with prescribed Chinese herbal granules, Chinese and Western patent medicines and other medicines insured by the Chinese government at the convenience pharmacy. The retirees can be accessible to medical services in an easier way, especially for some special patients and retired patients. We are trying our best to lift the burdens and worries of our patients in need.” Hu Jialing, vice president of TJU Hospital introduced.
In addition, in order to make it totally convenient for patients throughout the whole journey to the pharmacy, TJU Hospital has taken the following measures: solving the problem of high steps to avoid people’s slipping and falling down; installing cable nets for residents in the community to avoid mosquitoes; in terms of pandemic prevention and control, preparing masks, disinfecting gel and hand sanitizers for the retired residents in the community. Up to now, more than 300 retired people of TJU have enjoyed the medical services at the convenience clinic and pharmacy.
