The project takes education as the cutting-in point for rural revitalization, aims to take thenatural educationas a new fourth industry. We implant education into the countryside, establish classroom in nature, so that education can be scattered all over the earth, encouraging the understanding between rural and urban people. As a result, the education industry brings income to villagers, activates the countryside, inherits culture and protects environment.
To deal with the diversity of countryside, we put forwardthe rural curriculum, which is a set of universal strategies. Firstly, the strategy quantitively evaluates each rural area covering cultural, industrial, environmental conditions and its development potential. Then, ten prototypes of courses are designed and the quantitative system is used to evaluate these courses. By comparing the quantitative results of the two parts, we can get a set of curriculums most suitable for countryside. Finally, we transform the prototype regionally, making the courses serve both rural and urban children. In the same classroom, rural children and urban children complement each other and develop together harmoniously.
The design is located in a small village in southern China. Based on its culture and natural resources such as farmland, forest, lake and grass, five courses and their architectural forms are designed in detail. These small buildings are constructed with local materials such as bamboo, wood and stone. Children here take nature as their teacher, take the countryside as their classroom. They study on the ridge, among the woods, beside the stream.... Virtually, the countryside is no longer the supplier of the city, it will become a unique place for natural education.
Countryside, as well as rural education, will bepassed on from generation to generation.
