As the Mid-Autumn Festival is coming, special made TJU mooncakes have become a good catch among students, faculties and alumni. In addition to the typical ‘School Badge mooncakes’ (as the name implies, mooncakes with the surface imprinted the school badge), the university offers four new products of 18 flavors and special mooncake gift packages.

The special made TJU mooncakes integrate characteristic university culture elements into traditional Chinese culture, and are very popular among TJUers.
“Compared to previous years, there are three changes in this year’s mooncake gift boxes. First is the outer packaging. The elements of East Gate of Weijin Road Campus are preserved, and the counterparts of the Peiyangyuan campus are added to promote the new campus to alumni. There is a greeting card in the gift box, encouraging people to express their wishes in traditional handwriting way. We also put a lot thinking in new gift box design. There are four versions of gift boxes this year, the Classic version, Reunion version, Commemorative version and Low Sugar version, offering mooncakes of the Cantonese style, Japanese style and Suzhou style. Novel flavors catering to young people’s tastes are also available like the durian lava mooncakes and cherry blossom lava mooncakes,” said Kong Na, head of the University’s Dietary Management Section under the Logistics Support Department.
The mooncakes are sold at the Online Mall of the Dietary Management Center and all canteens of TJU. “The gift boxes of Reunion version are the most popular up to now, and the lava mooncakes are the most favourable .”

“The mooncakes are so popular that we have to scramble for them,” said Yu Xinlong, a student from the College of Management and Economics, who has bought eight diverse flavors of mooncakes, “The mooncakes are reasonably priced and have a good taste and look.”
Yu Qingbin, an undergraduate at the Law School, has booked the mooncakes through the WeChat mini-program which mailed his purchase directly back home. “It is very convenient for me to book these healthy low-sugar mooncakes online for my parents.”
