TJU Enters ESI Top 1% in Geosciences

Research

Recently, Tianjin University entered the Essential Science Indicators Top 1% list of institutions in the field of Geosciences for the first time. This means that from 2011 to 2021, the number of TJU's citations in the field of Geosciences, as ESI defines the field, is in the top 1% globally when compared to institutions also publishing in Geosciences in the last decade.

Up to now, Tianjin University has ranked top 1% in the ESI in 12 research fields, namely Chemistry, Materials Science, Engineering, Physics, Cumputer Science, Environment/Ecology, Pharmacology & Toxicology, Social Sciences(General), Agricultural Sciences, Biology & Biochemistry, Clinical Medicine and Geosciences.

ESI is a compilation of performance statistics extrapolated from articles published in scholarly journals and the citations to those articles. It lists the institutions and researchers that performed within the top 1% of their research fields globally. The ESI database covers 22 broad research fields and is updated bi-monthly to cover data of the past 10 years.
