 Campus

The lecture “Plan for today, Win the future” was held in Tianjin University (TJU) recently. Organized by the Youth Culture Forum and given by the famous entrepreneurship mentor Lu Zhanka, the lecture attracted a great number of students.

Mr. Lu is a seasoned entrepreneurship tutor who has given lectures in many prestigious universities. The aim of this lecture was to help students to anticipate potential problems in the future, provide them with multi-faceted perspectives about their futures especially regarding employment and entrepreneurship, and deliver appropriate suggestions according to their individual situations.

Mr. Lu initially illustrated the situation that university students were facing, and analyzed the internal and external factors that influence students mentally and physically. Thereafter, he moved on to explain the significance of accumulating experience, and how undergraduates could sharpen their edges for a brighter future.

Many statistics were used to demonstrate the difficulty and tough competition in the labor market, and Mr. Lu also outlined his ideas with anecdotes that happened to people around him and even drew on his own experience. The issues the tutor mentioned were accurate and specific, and aroused sympathy from the students. This strong agreement with the problems he identified contributed to the frequent communication between the audience and their mentor.

Throughout the lecture, Mr. Lu focused not only on the words he made but also on the reactions that students gave, with every gesture he made and every word he said displaying his confidence and sincerity. “The audience were encouraged by this masterly speech, because we began to understand the importance of experience, and there is no excuse for not being hard-working during your college life” one audience member said. “The mentor taught us with his own experience that there’s ‘no pain, no gain’, and I am inspired so much by his words.”

This lecture was not just an activity but also a beacon lighting the way towards the future for students. “University is not the final destination of a students’ life, it is just the starting point. Many students, however, have got lost in this illusion.” Mr. Lu said. “Through this two hours, I hope each one of you can find yourself and find your way forward.”
