Recently, a symposium and unveiling ceremony for the Joint Innovation Laboratory of TJU and the China Helicopter Research and Development Institute (CHRDI) was held at the Weijin Road Campus. Zhao Weihua, Party Secretary of CHRDI and Li Jiajun, Party Secretary of TJU attended the ceremony, among many others.

The ceremony was hosted by Cui Zhenduo, Director of the Office of Science and Technology at TJU. 

Li Jiajun spoke highly of the achievements made by CHRDI in the research and development of helicopters and unmanned aerial vehicles, and acquainted the delegates with TJU’s research capabilities, the development blueprint, and the recent discipline rankings. He also announced the new requirements and goals for their cooperation. He said that since the founding of the university, TJU aimed to improve education in China to make it a strong country. In combining TJU’s strength in engineering courses and high-level talent with the requirements of CHRDI, they are able to make a valuable contribution to national defense. Also, in response to the present demands of helicopter technology and future technical reserves, they aim to, through innovative technology research, improve the capability of independent innovation in China.   

Zhao Weihua expected that more significant cooperative projects concerning common key technologies would be launched in the future. He said that both CHRDI and TJU have regional advantages, therefore, they should take full advantage of the resources on hand and strengthen talent cooperation, in order to boost the helicopter industry of China.  

Later, Wu Mingzhong, Deputy Chief Designer of CHRDI, reported on the cooperation of TJU and CHRDI.
