On March 5, 2018, accompanied by officials from the State Intellectual Property Office and Tianjin Intellectual Property Office, the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) technical experts visited Tianjin University. Yuan Yingjin, Vice President of Tianjin University, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Over 30 representatives from Tianjin University attended the meeting, including representatives from relevant departments and offices and intellectual property related staff.

Vice President, Yuan Yingjin gave an overview of the scientific innovation environment of Tianjin University. He hoped that with the support of WIPO, Tianjin University could increase the efficiency and level of document utilization and enhance its innovation capability.

Mr. Roca Campana from the WIPO, gave a brief overview of WIPO and explained the use of patent documents in different regions.

Zhang Li from the library detailed the development of the patent document service at Tianjin University and the problems existing at the present stage.

Subsequently, the two sides had in-depth exchanges and discussions on intellectual property management, resource links and the service improvement.
