TJU Holds Tianjin Job Fair for Female College Students

 Campus

"My classmates and I are very grateful and thrilled to be here at the spring job fair for girls. We came in the early morning for a good view of the jobs on offer”, said Rao Jiaxin, from the Fourth Tianjin Job Fair for Female College Students. She is a post-graduate student from the School of Foreign Language and Literature of Tianjin University.

She added: “There are so many jobs from different fields available, including from the education, real estate, electronic technology, internet and other industries. It is a wonderful chance for us to talk face to face with the companies and employers and ask the questions we care about.”

Like Rao and her friends, up to 6,000 College girls have benefited from this special March 7th event. Jointly sponsored by Tianjin University, the Tianjin Municipal Working Committee on Children and Women, and the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of Tianjin Municiple People’s Government, the event took place at Tianjin University Peiyang Park Campus where 201 recruiting companies were invited, including large state-run companies and foreign-funded enterprises, which provided graduates with multiple choices.

An executive from CIFI group. Ms. Zhou said: “Instead of gender preference, we are more concerned about the candidates’ capabilities. Of course, while taking the opportunity of the job fair to find a suitable job, we also give suggestions to students about career choice. We can see that a lot of students have a difficult time choosing a career and they are pretty random when selecting an internship. We hope that they have a clear vision about future careers before applying, and that they may turn to their elder friends, parents and teachers for advice. And once they are settled on a career, their interest in and expectation towards the jobs will be influential in the long run.”
