On April 19, 2018, Tianjin Nankai district Red Cross and the School of Pharmaceutical Science and Technology (SPST) of Tianjin University (TJU) jointly launched Red Cross emergency ambulance training base. The unveiling ceremony was held on Weijin Road Campus of TJU.
The leaders attending the unveiling ceremony were: Yu Huibin, vice president of the Red Cross society of Tianjin; Sha Hong, deputy district governor of the Nankai district, president of the district Red Cross; Wang Jianhua, vice president of Red Cross society of Nankai district; Zhang Lixin, assistant principal of Tianjin university; Feng Cuiling, party secretary of SPST, Tianjin university; dean Jay Siegel; associate dean Kim Baldridge. More than 40 students and teachers attended the event.
In this ceremony, Wang Jianhua and Feng Cuiling signed and exchanged the agreement of the two sides to jointly establish the Red Cross emergency ambulance training base. Sha Hong and Jay Siegel jointly unveiled the emergency ambulance training base.
Zhang Lixin firstly delivered a speech. He pointed out the joint-construction of the training base combines the strengths of both organizations and has been a complementary process. “Tianjin university sincerely hopes that the future can be based on a high-quality teaching and research platform such as SPST, and contribute to the prosperity of the country, the rejuvenation of the nation and the happiness of the people”, he said.
Yu Huibin also expressed his warm congratulations on the establishment of the training base. He pointed out that this cooperation has great significance and is a model for future efforts. Both sides will play their respective strengths and strive to become a model of cooperation.
In the future, the training base will uphold the purpose of the Red Cross society of China, and further promote the spirit of "humanity, philanthropy, and dedication" among teachers and students, protect human life and health, promote the cause of human peace and progress, and contribute to social harmony and stability.
