The “Big Data and Intelligence” Crabapple Forum, the first academic forum of the 2nd World Intelligence Congress was held on the Tianjin University Peiyangyuan Campus on May 12th, kicking off the Congress. The two-day forum not only attracted more than 170 experts and scholars in big data at home and abroad, but also recruited more than a dozen young reporters to interview and experience AI in person and had close contact with this Congress.
Tianjin University is the academic branch of the 2nd World Intelligence Congress. Academics guide the future and the future belongs to children. In order to plant the seeds of science in the heart of the children and pass on the sense of pride and responsibility of the new era to them, Tianjin University invited these young reports to come into close contact with AI and explore the future together. More than a dozen student journalists from primary schools of Tianjin were invited to come and report on this Congress.
The children participated in the “Big Data and Intelligence” Crabapple Forum and felt the atmosphere of high-end academic forum. The children visited "smart" labs such as digital media technology labs and Internet of Things (IOT) laboratories. With the guidance of graduate students, they experienced face identification payment, control of unmanned vehicles, aircraft piloting simulation. Also, they visited the digital museum and watched the visual analysis of brainwave signals on the computer. Finally, the hosts of the big data forum, the Tianjin middle-aged science and technology innovation leading talent, Professor Hu Qinghua, a deputy dean of the School of Computer Science and Technology at Tianjin University, and Associate Professor Weng Zhongming from the Digital Media Technology Laboratory were interviewed by a young reporter.
The professors introduced the significance and content of artificial intelligence to the children, revealed China and Tianjin University’s scientific research achievements in artificial intelligence and encouraged them to report these achievements to more children. They said, "You are a new generation shouldering the mission of building China into a nation advanced in science and technology. The future of artificial intelligence awaits your participation. Let’s work together to achieve the Chinese dream."
