On May 9, 2018, Tianjin University Party Secretary, Li Jiajun, met with Li Jinping, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Lu'An Group at Weijin Road Campus.

Li Jiajun stated that Tianjin University will continue to give full play to its advantages in disciplines, technology, and personnel to support cooperation with the Lu’An Group, one of the world’s top 500 companies. Li Jinping pointed out that technological innovation is of great significance to enterprises and hoped that the two sides will jointly build a new model for the transformation of industry, universities, and research institutes, and continue to conduct in-depth cooperation in biochemical, high-end coal chemistry and other fields.

The two parties also exchanged views on deepening the strategic partnership and the preparation for the establishment of the "Lu'An Tianda New Energy Technology Co., Ltd." and among other issues.
