Professor Zhang Junhong Wins the 7th Contribution Award for Returned Overseas Chinese

On May 14, 2018, 104 outstanding people were announced as winners of the 7th Contribution Award for Returned Overseas Chinese (CAROC), 38 of whom were presented with first prizes. Zhang Junhong, Executive Vice President of the Tianjin University Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese and Professor from the School of Mechanical Engineering at Tianjin University (TJU), won a CAROC first prize this year.

CAROC was established by the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese (ACFROC) in 2003. It is awarded every two years with the support of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the China Association for Science and Technology. So far it has been presented seven times and 14 returned overseas experts from Tianjin University have won an award.

The awards are intended for any Chinese who have returned from overseas and made significant innovative achievements or outstanding contributions in scientific research and technological advancement, no matter where he or she works: colleges, universities, research institutes, returned overseas Chinese capital enterprises, or the model base for invigorating China through science and education of ACFROC. It aims to acknowledge the outstanding contributions made by the high-level Chinese, who have returned from overseas and to celebrate their latest achievements after returning to China.
