Technical Committee of Tianjin Port Environmental Monitoring Engineering Center Founded

On May 16, the Technical Committee of Tianjin Port Environmental Monitoring Engineering Center was founded and held its first meeting at Tianjin University. Academician Li Deren from Wuhan University, Yuan Yingjin, the Vice President of Tianjin University, and other committee members attended the meeting.

Zhai Jingsheng, the dean of the School of Marine Science and Technology from Tianjin University, introduced some basic information about the school to the committee, including its discipline layout, teaching and research systems and existing problems.

Zhang Anmin, the Dean of Marine Science and Technology Department of the Tianjin University delivered a report about the center. He proposed that the center should integrate comprehensive environmental monitoring tools to improve the dynamic tracking of given targets both on the surface and under the water, make information analysis and application more effective, and vigorously promote the digitization and intelligence of ports.

Vice President Yuan expressed his gratitude and welcome to the committee members. He emphasized that it was necessary to build the School of Marine Science and Technology to meet the nation’s demands for strategic development, and stated that he fully supported the establishment of the technical committee of Tianjin Port Environmental Monitoring Engineering Center.

Academician Li Deren and Yuan Yingjin unveiled the Tianjin Port Environmental Monitoring Engineering Center together.

It is reported that the Port Environmental Monitoring Engineering Center of Tianjin is mainly to establish a port environment monitoring system that will serve as an important base for information collection, processing, evaluation as well as intelligent application of scientific achievements.
