On May 19, Tianjin University held the 2018 Staff Fun Sports Meeting at Weijin Road Campus.

Approximately 1,000 faculty and staff members from 32 units of Tianjin University attended the event, including Tianjin University Vice Party Secretary and Chairman of Trade Unions, Sun Guangping.

The Fun Sports Meeting consisted of five group items including tug-of-war, rolling on, transporting a big balloon, Jumpsuit Racing, and caterpillar racing, along with an individual race called Big Feet Running. In Jumpsuit Racing, five staff were in one single huge jumpsuit. With one person stretching the left leg and another stretching the right leg, participants enjoyed themselves in the teamwork. Transporting a big balloon required 8 teachers to hold a huge balloon 4 meters in diameter and run up and back. As soon as the teams reached the final line, all cheered and applauded. Participants in Caterpillar Racing pulled a model caterpillar and ran forward, chanting “one two, one two, left right, left right” together.

The sports meeting was combination of fun, entertainment, cooperation and competition. It not only included a competition of strength and personal ability, but also required a smart mind and perfect teamwork.

Finally, the Logistics Department and the School of Material Science and Engineering won the first prizes.
