On May 25, the signing ceremony of the strategic cooperation agreement between Tianjin University and the Big Data Research Institute of the China Electronics Technology Group Corporation was held in Guiyang. According to the agreement, the two parties will jointly conduct research on big data applications and technologies and commit themselves to the development and improvement of related technology research and service capabilities.

At the ceremony, Li Jiajun, Party Secretary of Tianjin University and Lei Jicheng, General Manager of Big Data Research Institute of China Electronics Technology Group Corporation and Director of the National Engineering Laboratory delivered speeches. Hu Wenping, Vice President of Tianjin University, and representatives from related departments and offices of Tianjin University attended the signing ceremony.　　

In his speech，Li Jiajun said that with a solid and substantial foundation in engineering, Tianjin University has generated a large number of significant achievements to meet national demands. Various disciplinary platforms have been established including the newly established School of Artificial Intelligence. Remarkable achievements have been made in crossing and integration among disciplines, research, and student training. He also hoped that the two parties could deepen cooperation and work together for common development.　

Lei Jicheng stated，“Big Data Application Technology National Engineering Laboratory for Enhancing Government Governance Capacity is China's first National Engineering Laboratory for Big Data. The cooperation with Tianjin University will certainly take the basic theory and application research of Big Data to a new level, which will contribute to developing China into an innovation country.”
