Tianjin University and China Electronics Technology Group to Initiate Comprehensive Cooperation

On May 25, on the eve of China International Big Data Industry Expo 2018, Li Jiajun, Tianjin University Party Secretary, met with Xiong Qunli, Chairman of China Electronics Technology Group Corporation (CETC) in Guiyang. At that meeting the two sides reached consensus on launching a comprehensive strategic cooperation plan. During the talks, they both pledged full commitment of their respective resources to deepen cooperation and jointly promote the development of technical research, applications and industrialization of big data.

Li Jiajun hoped that the two sides could closely cooperate in the building of a scientific platform, including in artificial intelligence, big data, and other fields to satisfy national development needs and jointly promote theoretical innovation and technological progress.

Xiong Qunli was confident that CETC and Tianjin University could contribute their assets and know how to carry out all-round cooperation and expected to further deepen cooperation to enhance technology innovation and industry development.

CETC is a key backbone state-owned enterprise directly managed by the Central Government. It has 48 secondary member units and 8 listed companies that are distributed throughout 26 provinces, cities or regions, with 18 national key laboratories and 10 national research and innovation centers. In 2017, main business income reached 204.18 billion yuan, profit was 20.3 billion yuan, and total net assets totaled 161.98 billion yuan. It ranked 400th in the Fortune Global 500.
