Faculty Wrap Rice Dumplings to Celebrate the Dragon Boat Festival

On June 14 and 15, on the occasion of the Dragon Boat Festival and Father’s Day coming hand in hand, the Trade Unions and the Logistics Department Food Center held rice dumpling wrapping activities to celebrate the two festivals. More than 180 faculty and staff participated in the activities on the two campuses.

The activities were held at Canteen No.3 of the Weijin Road Campus on June 14, and at Canteen No.2 of the Peiyangyuan Campus on June 15. Before the event, the Trade Unions and the Logistics Department Food Center carefully selected the raw materials such as glutinous rice and dates. The two canteens not only provided space but also arranged for professional chefs to give technical guidance during the event. They showed the many faculty and staff, who participated how to make the stuffing, how to wrap the leaves and how to tie them up, and at the same time they made rice dumplings to set an example. All the faculty and staff members listened carefully, learned seriously, and finally made delicate rice dumplings (zongzi) by themselves!

It was a great opportunity to express holiday wishes to families of the faculty. After the event, the organizers packed the rice dumplings and asked the staff to take them home to send festive greetings in advance.
