Recently, Tianjin University received the “Modeling Case of Online Course Construction and Application” and “Smart Teaching Pilot Project” Awards from the Ministry of Education. On June 21, the 5th Greater China Online Education Seminar was held at Tsinghua University. The meeting commended the winners: 29 universities and colleges including Peking University and Tianjin University received the “Demonstration Case of Online Course Construction and Application” Award. 57 universities and colleges such as Beijing University of Chemical Technology and Tianjin University received the “Smart Teaching Pilot Project Award." Relevant personnel in charge of the Office of Academic Affairs at Tianjin University attended the seminar and were honored.
The “Demonstration Case of Online Course Construction and Application” and “Smart Teaching Pilot Project” awards are to encourage universities and teachers to actively use Internet tools and advanced teaching concepts to carry out teaching practices, promote the outstanding experience of relevant universities in the smart teaching field, demonstrate online education construction at the school level, use online courses and smart teaching tools to carry out on-campus teaching reforms and provide guidance and demonstrations of online education work in universities across the country.
Tianjin University attaches great importance to the construction of online courses, successively establishing four batches of online open courses, promoting the in-depth integration of informationization and teaching, encouraging the development of mixed teaching and achieving the transformation of traditional teaching methods. As a “Demonstration Case of Online Course Construction and Application” and “Smart Teaching Pilot Project” award recipient, Tianjin University will continue to actively promote the construction of online courses and "Internet+" classroom teaching reform, encourage teachers to make full use of various types of online teaching resources and carry out the reform of the mixed classroom teaching model combining online and offline methods.
