Performance of the TJU University for the Elderly

The TJU Office for the Retired and Peiyang University for the Elderly jointly organized the 2018 Performance of the University for the Elderly. Established in December 2016, Peiyang University for the Elderly has now offered 14 courses with a total of 26 classes, to more than 1,200 senior students who have joined.

The performance was presided over by Cui Li and Zhang Fang, students in the TJU University for the Elderly. Over 300 students of the University for the Elderly and their families as well as the retired leaders of Tianjin University and the Tianjin Elder Health Association watched the performance.

Wang Fei, Director of the TJU Office of the Retired expressed her gratitude to the retired faculty. She said that Tianjin University has always attached great importance to issues related to retirement and forming associations such as the Peiyang University for the Elderly. They were established to promote communication between the retired faculty. Wang Fei said: “Studying at the university is beneficial to the students’ health physically and mentally and added to their joy. In return their positive energy has influenced everyone around them. We will pay more attention to retirement issues and build more and better associations for the retired faculty”.

The performance consisted of a total of 15 programs of dance, yoga, vocal music, English, shadowboxing, smart phones and piano classes. The senior students sang and danced happily, which provided the audience with a spiritual feast.

Students from the dancing class performed classical dances such as Ode to Pear flower and Galloping horses and songs such as Charming China and Ode to the Motherland were sung by students from the vocal classes. Those who from basic yoga class performed yoga dance. They showed off their learning achievements, full of their infinite love for beauty and life.
