Tianjin University and CHN Energy Group to Build the Asia-Pacific CCTs Project Joint Operations Center

In August 2017, the three-year action plan (2017-2019) of APSEC was approved by the National Energy Administration to allow APSEC and the CHN Energy Group (then Shenhua Group Corporation Ltd.) to jointly form the Asia-Pacific CCTs Project Joint Operations Center and was accredited by 21 APEC economies at the 53rd APEC Energy Working Group and Associated Meetings in Singapore.

The Asia-Pacific CCTs Project Joint Operations Center will be in line with the principle of “based in China, facing the Asia-Pacific region and covering the whole world” to make China's energy culture go global and promote China's leading role in energy. As the aircraft carrier” among energy enterprises, the CHN Energy Group has assets of more than 1.8 trillion yuan, ranking fifth among central government-owned enterprises and 80th in the world's top 500 enterprises.

In November 2017, with the support of the National Energy Administration, the preparation for the Asia-Pacific CCTs Project Joint Operations Center was launched.

In order to promote the establishment of Joint Operations Center and implement the following work plan, a delegation from Tianjin University including Vice President Yuan Yingjin and heads from relevant schools, departments and offices went to the CHN Energy Group for cooperation negotiations on July 31, 2018.

Relevant heads from the Institute attended the meeting.

At the meeting, the two sides discussed the plan to set up the CCTs Project Joint Operations Center and the specific work and resources and funds that need to be implemented, clarified the next working plan, and amended the ideas for expanding and deepening the industry-university-research cooperation between Tianjin University and the CHN Energy Group. They will hold the CCTs Project Joint Operations Center opening ceremony during the period of the APSEC Fourth Anniversary Celebration and the Fourth Asia-Pacific High-end Forum on Sustainable Energy Development.
